Judea and Samaria have been under Israel’s authority since the Six-Day War in 1967. But to date, the government of Israel has not yet determined what its policy is regarding the future of this region. Regularly in the grey area, in between negotiating with foreign powers under the two-state solution concept, and on the other side building and developing Jewish towns and interests in this region.
Last Sunday Israel’s ruling “Likud” party held a conference and a vote regarding the party’s platform on this issue. The outcome was unanimous support for building in Judea and Samaria. Many believe that this is an important stepping stone on the way to Israel’s government deciding to apply Israeli law in all parts of the land.
On today’s show David Ha’ivri will be speaking with Gidon Ariel who is a member of the “Likud” Central Committee, who took part in the conference and vote. Gidon will provide us with some inside information and run down of the organizational structure of the party.

The following is text of the resolution that was passed in vote at the “Likud” Central Committee conference on Sunday:
“In the Jubilee year since the liberation of Judea and Samaria, including our eternal capital Jerusalem, the Likud Central Committee calls upon the elected officials of the Likud to work towards free construction and application of Israeli law and sovereignty in all liberated areas of settlement in Judea and Samaria. If I forget Thee, O Jerusalem, may my right hand be forgotten, may my tongue cleave to the roof of my mouth if I do not remember Thee, if I do not put Jerusalem above my highest joy.”
