In addition to being a Joyous holiday, Purim is a very curious holiday. On the one hand, we are celebrating G-d’s divine providence in saving the Jewish people from national genocide. On the other hand G-d’s name is never mentioned in the book of Esther from which we read and commemorate the Purim story. Further, the very name Purim itself means lottery which symbolizes the concept of the world run through random chance. This seems to go against basic principles of Jewish faith that the world is run by G-d with divine providence and intervention.
Join Rabbi David Aaron and Leora Mandel to see how delving into the holiday of Purim reveals deeper concepts about the hidden, revealed and G-ds interaction with history and man.
