Heather Dean’s career as a broadcast journalist began in 1988 at MTV ‘Music Television’ when she interned in the network’s News division, in New York City. Soon after, she was hired to work on various programs in MTV’s Production department. In 1992, Heather began producing media news stories and celebrity interviews for such global outlets as The Associated Press (AP) Radio Network; E! Entertainment Television; TV Guide; People Magazine Online; Teen People Magazine; and Family Circle Magazine.
Heather has also been interviewed on camera for such networks as NBC News, MSNBC, Fox News and Fox 5 New York to comment on various breaking entertainment news stories. When she wasn’t covering movie premieres and album release parties, she visited The Holy Land when her schedule permitted. Eventually, Heather decided that living in Israel is vastly more desirable and meaningful to her, and so she made Aliyah in 2001. Heather met her future husband in Israel, less than a month before 9/11. They remain in Israel, and it is the birthplace of all of their children.
Heather’s show, “The Modern Jewish Home” is an hour-long program with a variety of dynamic segments, and is targeted to Jewish women, yet relevant to all Jewish adults.
Heather’s years of broadcast interviewing experience help her bring out the best in her guests, experts in such fields as: Jewish holidays, the Land of Israel, relationship dynamics, inspiration and useful tips for working moms, health and nutrition, home organization, Jewish entertainment, and fantastic kosher recipes. Occasionally, Heather spotlights a star in the Jewish world whose community service or ‘celebrity’ benefits the Jewish people, and another guest who humorously talks about the complexities and quirks of a Jewish woman’s life.
