Breaking #BDS: A Full Frontal Assault

Carry the battle to them. Don’t let them bring it to you. Put them on the defensive and don’t ever apologize for anything. Harry S. Truman

Middle East Meets East

Given the hostilities coming out of Europe toward Israel, that support the Boycott, Divestment & Sanctions movement, a new strategy has been put in place by the Israeli government to thwart the BDS initiatives. Israel is seeking to forge relationships with countries such as China.

According to a United With Israel article:

“Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and Chinese Vice Premier Liu Yandong declared the opening of talks on a bilateral free trade agreement, a significant step in relations between Israel and China.

“I was delighted to hear today from Vice Premier Liu that China is prepared to begin free trade agreement negotiations with Israel. This is a momentous development and we are ready to do so right away,” Netanyahu stated Tuesday, where the two leaders opened the second meeting of the 2016 Israel-China innovation conference in Jerusalem.

“We have so much that we can do together,” Netanyahu said. “We discussed the various fields in which this can happen – in health care, in remote education, in agriculture, in marine agriculture, in IT. In every field of human endeavor, the cooperation between Israel and China can yield enormous results. And we believe that Israel can be a perfect partner.”

This implications of this trade agreement could have great benefits for Israel in the future. It could double bilateral trade (currently around $8 billion.) Not only will it include goods and services, but it will also include economic and technological cooperation. Furthermore, it will give Israeli goods easier entry into China and vice-versa.

The World Jewish Congress Enters the Ring

Another United With Israel article quotes Ron Lauder, Head of the World Jewish Congress, when he spoke at the Ynet anti-BDS Conference in Jerusalem.

“Vowing never to remain silent again, the WJC is taking on a growing global anti-Semitic threat: the anti-Israel boycott movement.

The head of the World Jewish Congress (WJC), an organization representing Jewish communities worldwide, announced the WJC is launching a new initiative to counter anti-Israel activities on college campuses.

Ron Lauder, president of the WJC, said Monday his group will dispatch activists to as many as two dozen campuses around the world to train students on how to organize and respond to anti-Israel activity. The initiative is expected to begin next fall.”

Roseanne Rips Into the BDSer’s

Friend of Israellycool, speaking at the same Ynet anti-BDS conference in Jerusalem, Roseanne Barr gave a rousing speech squarely directed at BDS crowd.  She called them out for what they are, fascists, who don’t want to actually help Palestinians and Jews reach a compromise, but a group who seeks the destruction of Israel.

Will Barghouti Get His Butt Kicked?

An interesting turn of events reported in Breitbart  states that the Grand Puba of the BDS movement, Omar Barghouti, who actually has the gall to spew his worldwide hatred of Israel while being an Israeli resident, just might get this privilege revoked.

“Israel’s Interior Minister Aryeh Deri said on Monday that he may revoke the residency status of Omar Barghouti, founder of the Boycott, Divestment, and Sanctions (BDS) movement.

Deri said that Barghouti lied about where he lived when filing for residency. Barghouti, who was born in Qatar, received resident status in 1994 after marrying an Israeli woman from Acre and claiming that he lives in Israel.

“And now it turns out it’s not true. I was given information that he lives in Ramallah and he is using his residency status to travel all over the world in order to operate against Israel in the most serious manner,” Deri said.

“He was given rights similar to those of a citizen and he took advantage of our enlightened state to portray us as the most horrible state in the world,” he added.”

Israel has also taken on fighting the BDS movement by employing and deploying law firms abroad to counter the EU labeling of Israeli products being produced in Judea and Samaria.
